At median...what makes someone stand out to CLS?

Post by annie2010 » Tue Nov 02, 2010 12:57 pm

If you are completely at the median for a school, how do you stand out? Great personal statement? Resume? Early Decision? Is it just random?

I am 171 and 3.85 and for my top choice (columbia) LSN gives me a 51% chance. Any advice on how to stand out to the ad committee?

No crazy good softs or anything like that, but good academic softs (2 senior thesis awards, getting published, honors etc).
