I figured that I could apply with some hope to everything but HYS, but according to my counselor the mere fact that I was born south of the Rio Grande means that I'd be competitive anywhere.

Is this factually correct? Sounds iffy.

Well, how far south of the Rio Grande? Just South, as in Mexico, and your looking good at HYS. Too far South, as in south of Mexico, and that URM boost begins to diminish.

Depends where you want to go. But you're really a lock for most t14 schools with your numbers + URM status.

If you can score a 173-176 you'd be a lock for at least one of HYS, but as of now i'd say you have pretty solid shots at all of them.
