heres the situtation:
Feb 10 lsat 143
Oct 10 lsat 158
schools that i am applying to want an explination for any increase or decrease over 5 points

Background info:
A month before the feb lsat, there was an incident( used to work with emotionally disturbed children) at work that caused to suffer sever anxiety attacks, and i had to leave my job. Took the test anyways for peace of mind knowing that I was still working toward my goal of becoming a lawyer ( which is what I always wanted)
since then, dedicated my life to my goal, studied and took a ton of tests ( didnt really study at all for feb) earned the 158.

question:
Should i use the explinaiton that I studied more, or the work related reason for the increase. Both contrinuted significantly, but I dont want to come off as making excuses, or not being able to stand the pressure ( fwiw the kid attacked another student, me, then tried to kill himself) of law school. I am working again, and not under any doctors care.

i think you should use both if they both had a significant effect, but i think you would have to be willing to disclose the incident.

i have no problem explaining the incident, and how it affected me, so thats not an issue. I just dont want to sound like a pity case, or an excuse maker

Just make sure to keep it short and concise:

One month before the February (insert year here) LSAT (insert incident here) occurred while I was working with emotionally disturbed children. This incident led to severe anxiety and as a result I did not perform as well as I knew I could have. Knowing I was capable of more, I chose to sit for the (insert date here) LSAT administration and earned a 158, which I feel is a much more accurate representation of my abilities.

Or something like that.
