Top Law Schools

I'm not exactly sure what I should do after receiving my score today. I was expecting to get something in the high 150s, low 160s, and instead received a 153. Given that my numbers aren't superb, I guess it looks like I'm going to have the unenviable task of retaking in December, which is NOT what I wanted, if I want to get into a T1 school in the northeast.

So, what should I do? Should I blanket the schools that I originally wanted to go to (mostly T1 schools) and hope that I get waitlisted? and rely on a Feb or Dec retake? Or should I retake before applying? Or should I retake before applying to some schools? I'm in need of TLS guidance... Here is a little more about me...

153 highest LSAT
African American male
Good softs
Decent LORs

I can relate to the shitty indecision of the whole "do I apply, do I hope to get wait-listed, do I retake the LSAT and apply then...?"

I would say, depending on one factor: definitely retake. The factor being, how much did you prepare for the first test? If you already busted your ass practicing.. it's a much tougher call. But if you didn't really prepare, start taking practice tests every other day, pronto. Your score will improve.

I took it once before, freaked out, and got a 148.
