Current Fax turn-around time
I had a recommender fax her letter this morning, and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on the processing time at the moment. A couple weeks ago, I had a letter faxed and processed within 36 hours. Still that fast at this point?

Re: Current Fax turn-around time
I'd say it should still take less than 48-72 hours.
But I faxed one of mine in late August, and it took them 2 full days, so make sure to give it a little time before you try again.

I had a recommender fax a letter Thursday and it posted Saturday. I also had him priority mail it on the same day, so I don't know which way it was received.

Just wanted to follow-up, in case anyone is wondering: My recommender faxed her letter in around 10 AM, and LSAC had it processed by 5 PM same day.
Pretty fast, I'd say.

I just spoke with the folks at LSAC and the lady there vehemently recommended that I don't have my recommender fax it because there is a chance the letter gets smudged/looks worse. Any truth to this, or should I just fax it anyway?
Thanks.

I was warned about the same thing last week, but the woman said it was okay if the barcode remained readable. It turned out fine, though I had my recommender mail it just in case.Perch wrote:I just spoke with the folks at LSAC and the lady there vehemently recommended that I don't have my recommender fax it because there is a chance the letter gets smudged/looks worse. Re: Current Fax turn-around time
I only know what worked for me. Two letters processed extremely quickly with no problems...
I'm sure they discourage it for some logistical reasons on their end.
