Picky Columbia App Question

Post by alea » Mon Oct 25, 2010 6:28 am

Advance apologies for sounding neurotic -- but I am really unsure whether to answer Columbia question 9 or leave it blank if I'm a US citizen.

Basically, it asks "Of what country are you a citizen?"

But question 8 asks, "Are you a US citizen?" And then, "if not, what is your visa type?"

I am confused since logically, question 9 is a new question... and so perhaps it would be best not to leave it blank. Does anyone who has completed the Columbia app have a quick piece of advice?

Cheers guys!

write USA

if you think about it, the two questions are not the same.

Hypothetical person A, dual citizenship of USA and UK

8. Are you a US citizen? Person A: Yes.
9. Of what country are you a citizen? Person A: USA, UK.

Hypothetical person B, UK citizen, NOT USA citizen

8. Are you a US citizen? Person A: No.
8.b. If not, what is your visa type? Person A: Type X
9. Of what country are you a citizen? UK

Somebody please write something about America being a colony of the British.

End.
