LSAC LOR - how long are they active?

I'm wondering how long the Letter of Recommendations in LSAC remain active/valid. I'm having second thoughts about applying this cycle and may even wait a few more years (I have an awesome job right now that pays very well - kind of hard to give that up in this economy). I've heard that they definitely remain active for a year, but perhaps longer (for the duration that one's LSAC registration is active)? If nobody knows, I'll simply ask LSAC.

Thanks.

My account says it doesn't expire until 2015.

That's what I suspected - sounds good to me. Thanks.

Your account remains valid for five years after you purchase the CAS or register for the LSAT. Until you do that it is valid for a year from my experience.

One thing to remember is that some schools have time limits on letters of recommendations. I do not remember the school, but I know one application said LOR's had to be no more than two years old. This may be more of a factor than how long they are active on LSAC.

Interesting - makes sense; although if you've been out of Undergrad for a while, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense if your academic LOR's have a time limit on them...it's not like your performance in Undegrad changes year after year once you've graduated.

Cool, I've been wondering about this stuff as well and have a question of my own.

I'm applying in the next cycle, and want to get my LORs done by April/May, because I want to avoid the fall crunch that comes when everyone is harassing profs for these letters, and also get the letters done while I'm still fresh in the profs mind.

There would be no problems with me submitting this early right?

LSAT or LSDAS, whichever comes later. If not, 2 years.
