One thing to consider is the long term outlook of the school's program. You're going to be an alumnus of the school forever. For example, Northwestern is better than UVA right now. But whether it's Mike London or someone else, I think the program will get back on track at some point and NU will stink again.

You're preaching to the choir, I love UVA football, but the ACC is kind of an embarrassment of a conference to be in. Being a Virginia fan is like being a Bengals fan.

For me since I went to UG in Britain it will be a big factor. I'm pretty bummed I missed out on the whole college sports thing.

Agreed. I am in undergrad at McGill (Montreal, Canada) and our football team is a joke. A couple years ago we didn't have a kicker/punter so we just went for it on every third-down (we play 3-down football in Canada).

On the bright side, during my entire 4 years at McGill the only game they won was the only game I went to.

Finally someone posts this up! In my opinion you can't go bad with big ten sports (in fact I'm applying to a myriad of those schools with top teams) the way I look at it we're going to school to study and become professionals why not have a fun time while there? In short I believe it should be something considered but nothing bigger then costs and job prospects.

Not to divert the thread by much here, but what are typically some of the solid schools where it's known that the students have a good amt of fun? Michigan? VA? I'm assuming some of the t20s as well, such as UT and UCLA are in there as well.

The fact that grad school for me is almost definitely going to be a private, academically geared school sometimes makes me wish i had gone to an insanely fun state school for undergrad (i visited UF for a weekend during final four and dammnnnn)

I came to Georgetown solely for football. Best decision of my life. Can't wait for the big game against Sacred Heart next week.

My UG alma mater has arbitrary criteria of best winning percentage of the last century. And we're nuts.

I think he means the bengals that have won 1 playoff game in the past 20 years and are 2-3 this year with losses to teams like Cleveland and Tampa Bay...

UVA is the same nearly every year; UM might actually do something someday.
