I realize most of the people here are still trying to get into law school, but once you arrive there will be a whole new set of challenges as you try to make it to the top. Most schools profiled at TLS have a person on the payroll whose job is to help you hone your study techniques and get good grades. Ignore their advice at your peril. Want to know more? I interviewed the "academic success" coordinator at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Here are her answers:

Re: Law school academic expert gives tips for success
One of the biggest mistakes a 1L can make is to rest on his/her academic laurels from before law school. When you arrive, you will find that everyone around you is stupid smart, and that almost everyone is willing to work hard. The way to set yourself apart from the pack is to listen to the advice of upper division students, and listen when you are told about how to rethink study habits for law school. It is a completely different intellectual process.clevermoose wrote:thank you for posting this. i especially liked the part about scheduling study hours ahead of time, which i think will really help me stay focused and determined next year.
