Top Law Schools

I am currently registered for the october exam, but I am leaning towards taking the December exam now.. Since I am already registered for the exam next week, can I go in, take the exam, and cancel it at the end? This way I can get a good feel for real-day test conditions. Would canceling my exam harm me in any way, or is it seen as the same as a no-show?

From what I've heard, 1 cancel on your record is not penalized. If you have 2 or more, they start to wonder what's going on.

Outside of T6, they take your highest score anyway, so what does it matter if you cancel 10 times? They will just consider your top score. What's the difference if you have 3 scores or 1 score and 2 cancels if only the top score counts?

Yeah, known but unsaid. All schools want the highest score because that's what goes into the USNWR rankings.

Maybe, but they can submit the highest score to USNWR and still consider the average in making admissions decisions.

Sounds counter-intuitive. They want people with high scores to attend.

It's not exactly seen the same as a no-show. If you don't show up your report will say "absent" if you go in and cancel it will say "cancel". Canceling before you have ever taken an LSAT (no previous score) shouldn't hurt you and since you are already signed up for the test you might as well take advantage of it and get the experience without having to worry about a score.

Also, you don't want to cancel more than once. Schools may be numbers-hungry but it still won't look good when you are being compared against that guy who didn't cancel twice and has the same score.

You can but it will take away one of your three chances in two years to take the LSAT. Also, if you know your going to cancel, fill in the cancel bubble on the answer sheet the day of or otherwise I think you have to send a letter within like 8 days to LSAC.

So schools like American University, UConn, etc, they take the highest of the two? Did not know that

Imagine HYS say to ABA in their report:

"Oh hai guise. I know yer policy says ABA only accepts teh top score for its report, but cuz we're cool lawl school we want to aberage teh scores k? so can u take teh lower aberage score than teh high one? thx brah. ttyl"
