Leaving Graduate school addendum (critique please)

Post by buckyj420 » Wed Sep 29, 2010 12:25 pm

Trying to keep it short and not draw it out to much. Want it to be an explanation not an excuse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This letter is in response to question 16 on your application for admission to the Juris Doctorate program at ABC University School of Law. I left a graduate program in Anthropology at AB University in May of 2007 after completing three years of course work with a 3.46 cumulative gpa. The primary reason I left the program was to find employment to provide for my growing family. My wife had recently become pregnant and I needed to be able to provide both health insurance and income to support our family. In the three and a half years since that time I have continued to work in the field of Anthropology as an Archaeologist applying what I had learned at AB University. I believe that with the support of my wife I now have the opportunity and maturity to continue my education.
