American University JD/ MA International Relations

Post by deadhipsters » Tue Sep 21, 2010 5:08 pm

What are peoples thoughts? Waste of money, time, etc?
Not interested in the mythical "international law". But I am curious, what kind of jobs would this bring about for a newly minted JD. Masters in IR from good schools can generally offer solid career prospects.

Waste of time & money. If you're in at American, you can probably up your LSAT by just a couple points and go to a better school for cheaper.

Hm. Really? What about at say Georgetown? There really is no way anyone is going to be able to help justify this extension of my useless undergraduate major is there...

I would say Georgetown is worth it and I'd pay sticker there (some will probably disagree ITE). Georgetown is clearly way above American and they are basically equal in tuition price...that should tell you how much of a ripoff AU is.
