we can't let this thread die!!!

ok, so what has everyone been up to??

I'm just two weeks into my final year of uni, still not quite in the mood to study until I find out my Oct LSAT result...on the other hand, I sent out my application to USC days ago without my score, surprisingly the adcom emailed me back and said I need to provide them with the 'made-up' social security number assigned by LSAC. I thought schools are not supposed to look at our applications at all until they get the LSAT scores?? Any idea what USC is doing with my app?

I am just waiting waiting waiting. I imagine it just has to do with filing rather than actually looking at the app. What are you studying? Digging into your dissertation?

Just checking in - pumped the foreign thread is still alive :D

All very lazy here, still need to get a couple of things together to complete the rest of my apps. Only one submitted.

R6_Philly I like you, you're in a lot of threads I read. Welcome.

I'm dying waiting here. UCLA has started making phone calls and it looks like GULC may have sent out a round of letters postmarked yesterday. I don't think I can chill out until I get just one acceptance to a school I can go to.

I have been hoping for UT/UCLA all this week. It's not really that great to be passed over :(

Congratulations!!!!

ETA: I think UCLA only did a small, small wave. It looks like things don't get going properly until early/mid-November, according to LSN.

Thanks!

I guess more waiting is in store then. I was hoping for a decision or two every week so the waiting doesn't seem so bad lol I wonder if the next few will come together then.

Hi all - sorry to be such a late joiner to this thread, glad i found it!

I'm from Holland but educated in the UK, applying to just 5 reach schools this cycle. Share the opinion on GPA - I was also 'above average' despite an average of 69%...

Did anyone else address the 'why US law not UK' issue in their PS or application?

Oh hi my UK GPA twin...just how much it sucks to have a 69%!

I didn't address that issue in my PS, probably because I don't know the clear answer myself...I consider doing the 1-year conversion course but I just thought a JD would be more versatile and challenging. And partly because I hated law 3 years ago leading me to reject the offer to study LLB. But I think for us internationals who are neither from the UK or the US the question doesn't really matter....

170. Will retake in December. Currently undecided whether to apply and update my score (inform the schools) or to wait for December scores. What are your opinions?

Hello! Great to see a foreign applicants thread.

I'm an east-Asian resident and citizen, but I went to UG in New York. I'm actually not even sure if I'm considered a foreign applicant because of my UG status.

In any case, nice to meet you all. Does anyone know how much of an advantage, if any, we get as international applicants?

175 here. I think I jinxed myself as that's the hypo number I've been plugging into law school predictor and 'what are my chances' threads and stuff... though I was hoping for a higher number. Anyone have input on my chances ED at Columbia with that LSAT and an 'above average' (but 2:2 degree) rating from LSAC in an LLB? Any others applying to Columbia?

I think you'll get into Columbia ED. However, unless you absolutely have to go to Columbia, I'll suggest you just blanket anywhere from HYS down because frankly the foreign classification is not as important to the schools as your 175.

Read this thread. I think the consensus is that, while a 'Superior' won't help you very much, lower grades can hurt you at the highest schools. This is a highly unpredictable process, and I'd say to the OP here that if you REALLY want to go to Columbia and are happy paying sticker, go for ED. If money is an issue, or you'll kick yourself forever if you get into Harvard but have to go to Columbia ED, you just have to let it go to chance and give yourself a worry ulcer.
