1/4 Cuban race question
I know this is a sketchy question but if I am 1/4 Cuban can I mark Latino as my race on my applications and will that help?

Re: 1/4 Cuban race question
I won't cover the should question, but the consensus seems to be that it won't help much if at all. The Latinos who get a boost are PR and Mex.Gatorbull84 wrote:I know this is a sketchy question but if I am 1/4 Cuban can I mark Latino as my race on my applications and will that help?
If you want it to be a boost, the best thing to do is write a DS (if you can show how your ancestry/identity might add to the diversity of the class).

What have you always checked? Check that.
Technically you are Latino/Hispanic.

Re: 1/4 Cuban race question
Thanks guys. I am mostly Iranian/American so I have always had to check the white box(middle eastern heritage falls in here). But after going through grad school I got the point that AA really gives certain races an advantage so I messed around on law predictor and it did boost me. I know it sounds wrong but even though I disagree with giving people a boost for their race I want any advantage I can get.

Cuban isn't URM. You won't see anything along the lines of what AA/MX/PR/NA get, but it may be something.

Cubans arent URM's. Being 1/4 Cuban makes you a negative URM. So, not you cant claim this.
