This is my undergrad's unofficial transcript. They have yet to release CGPA's that account for summer courses. As you can see, the courses I've taken aren't exactly 'easy,' and I'm hoping law school admissions will take that into account while also noticing the gradual upward trend in grades. I know these aren't stellar grades, but will the depth of coursework give me a slight boost - or am I toast? *Haven't taken my LSAT yet*

The courses you took don't really matter at all. You're pretty much toast, unfortunately. What kind of GPA are you looking at?

Not to mention unfortunately you're competing against a lot of students who will have similarly, if not more, difficult courses
I had hoped that my undergraduate school and the fact that my gpa is in the top 10% of my major, which is notoriously difficult at my school, would make a difference

Right now, the eyball test says your gpa looks like it's barely a 2. You aren't graduating with a 3.0 with all those credits already.

I wouldn't count on getting a 170 either....but eh study hard for the lsat...it's possible.

Also, can you even graduate with an Econ degree since you have an "ncr" (which I'm assuming means no credit) in two intro econ courses?

Yeah - I took the two courses again this past year which is why the first two have NCR next to their names; the first two don't count towards my UGPA. Thanks for your input.

Even if your UGPA doesn't count it, LSAC will count it in their cumulative GPA, which is the only one that matters.

Yeah, don't mean to be a downer man , but that transcript looks rough. Why did you stay an econ major? At this point you have to destroy the lsat to have a good shot at decent schools. Good luck.

Also, what was "the quest for meaning" about? Sounds like a cool class.

Yeah, sorry to say I agree with most of the other posters. Your grades are really low. But maybe you can raise them before graduation. Any chance you can take summer/winter break courses (even things you might not need) that are easy As to raise your GPA before you graduate? Or even taking an extra year (example: not doing your senior thesis or whatever else you need to graduate until the following year) then taking as many "A" classes as possible. Those are the only two ways I can see you salvaging this.

Then kill the LSAT and hope for the best.

Does Canada use the British system? If so, those grades are not bad at all. If its the American system, eh... you're in trouble.

I'm not the previous poster, but that is the American system. Some schools might be more strict, some more lenient, but giving out ABCDFs etc is the American system. The British system goes "First, Upper Second, Lower Second, Third" or something like that. I'm pretty sure the previous poster was making a joke.

No, because then a 30 would be considered a fail. A 'D' is not a failing grade but marginally passing, and 'passing' implies anything over 50.

Um, No. That's wrong. Number 1: I don't have any F's; Number 2: You missed my ONE AND ONLY A, thanks for that, and I only have a total of 90 credits not 99. I appreciate your effort nonetheless. You have 96 credit hours according to my calculations to your transcript (the two NCRs still count in LSAC GPA even if it doesnt for your school since you retook the classes).

And got your current LSAC GPA to be 2.48. Pretty much toast. From your current classes, if you could manage straight As, you could get an additional 18 credit hours of A, which would bring it up to 2.72. Then if you did 18 credit hours of A again second semester you would end with a 2.89. This is if you got your next 36 credits of straight As.

You retook 2 classes, but LSAC counts both the original and new grades as if they were separate classes, regardless of how your UG counts them. Those NCR grades are counted as F = 0.0.

Yeah I missed the A, so you have 102 credits (20 3-credit classes, 6 6-credit classes, and 2 repeated 3-credit classes). So your GPA is:

6 F

234.87 / 102 = 2.30

So you would need 71 credits of A's to reach a 3.0.

Number 3
Your UG (York University) does use the American system, because you can go to this link, search for your UG, and see the official LSAC conversion policy for your UG. You'll see that they count A = 4.0, B = 3.0, etc.
