Top Law Schools

I know this has been discussed but I'm disappointed so here goes: it seems like most people with my stats received letters for Duke's PT- or at least a fee waiver. I've received neither (3.77, 172). I AM getting other waivers, so it's not my account.. any ideas? Just not high enough to be guaranteed the fee waiver? SO SAD, Duke is my top choice!

Dude you should be golden at Duke (regular admissions) with those numbers.. Fee waivers aren't always given out consistently from what I've seen.. If the waiver is a big issue for you I would talk with the Duke admissions office, cite your numbers, and see what if they will offer you one for merit. Otherwise, enjoy paying the fee and getting accepted regardless IMO.

I'd also reach higher than Duke (such as Columbia, NYU, Chicago, and even the 'holy trinity') with your numbers and see what comes up...

I think what people are failing to see is that there are a lot of metrics that LSAC delivers to schools as part of the CRS. It's completely plausible that schools have devised their own set of criteria for determining waiver eligibility beyond the usual GPA / LSAT / URM suspects

- Years out of school
- Regional Interests
- Legal interest areas
- # of LSATs
- Undergraduate University, Major

etc.

If you don't get one but believe you're qualified, e-mail the school and ask!

Do you need to be invited to apply? I just googled "Duke priority track" and it brings up the PT application page... I don't really get the whole priority track thing I guess.

Thanks! I am applying to most of them.. although my personal preference lies with Duke/UVA and I will definitely have to weigh that against a "better" law school, should the occasion arise!

Saw that earlier-- they have to recognize your LSAC number, so if you haven't been "invited" or whatever, you can't register.

At first I was really freaked out to ask for waivers, but thennnn they started saying yes! So just press send and it'll probably work out. If not, they're still pretty nice about it.

I think so, although it seems your odds of being admitted are pretty high. Mostly I'm just impatient and love the idea of knowing in 10 days

Any record of low GPA/high LSAT splitters receiving PT?
