Redundancy btwn PS and LOR

Quick Background- I am an engineer, went to DC for a science-policy internship this summer. Loved it, empowering, etc.
I originally planned on writing my PS on this summer-personal growth, seeing the need for science in policy, an engineer adjusting to the policy world, stepping out of comfort zone, etc
I had one of my bosses there write me an LOR. She let me see it- she talked about my performance there, stepping out of the familiar world, learning about the policy world, etc
Will it be redundant to write my PS on my DC experience?
Or, the LOR validates what I write in my PS
There are slight thematic differences in how the experience is portrayed, it's written from her perspective as my boss versus mine.
This summer really changed what I want to do later on- I had never considered policy work and now I seriously am. I originally wanted to go to a school closer to home, but now I really want to go to school on the east coast, etc. Life-changing, however cliche that sounds.
I have 1-2 other stories/topics/themes that I could center my PS on as well...not sure what to do
