New Evaluation Service for law school applicants starts August 15!

The Evaluation Service is a new way for law schools to learn about the skills and attributes applicants possess. Evaluators are invited by applicants via e-mail to electronically provide ratings and comments on six noncognitive skill and attribute categories; law schools specify how many evaluations and/or letters of recommendation will be required or accepted. The service is included as part of LSAC's Credential Assembly Service and is available at no additional charge.

BU's application on LSAC asks if you're planning to participate in this?

Does anyone know anything about this? This is the first I'm hearing about it! What are you all doing? So confused!

I'm going to forgo it. I think my LORs should be more than enough for the schools, and my guess is schools won't care especially this cycle.

Is there a thread about this somewhere that explains what this service even is? There is not much information about it from that little news blurb on LSAC website.

Yeah.. basically there's a thread panicking and cursing LSAC. Nobody knows for sure what it is though.

They figure it out near the end, which is why the thread died. Basically, LSAC was like o hai, let's come up with this silly way to do LOR and roll it out this year. I can't imagine a school requiring it, though, since they won't even roll it out for 3 more days.

It was still all conjecture, no? We still don't really know more than what LSAC put on their site.

But I agree with you on that schools probably won't require it for this cycle.
