Thoughts? Looks like this cycle will be a little better than last year, but not much.

Is there info on the % change in applicants for each cycle?

You cannot estimate number of applicants from LSAT takers. Many people take the LSAT and then don't apply...or wait a year after taking the LSAT to apply.

This doesn't mean it's going to be a "better" cycle in any form or fashion for the reasons that blowhard gave.

I think it's more of a question of what happened in the last few years that made everyone want to stay out of the job market for a few years...

Right...but there's not necessarily any reason to believe that a general increase in number of LSAT takers doesn't lead to an increased # applying. You can't approximate exact numbers, for the exact reason you're stating, but you can probably predict general trends. A 15% increase in LSAT takers might only lead to a 5% increase in applications(making that 5% number up), for reasons you've mentioned, but I find it unlikely that 15% increase in LSAT test takers ends up getting a 0% increase in applications.

doesn't lead?

Yes. I fixed it. This is what I get for constructing sentences longer than my attention span can follow.

I htink this is the data you want to show the number of applications is up as well. No recent data, but you can see the trend for Fall 2009
