Working towards taking patbar exam end of the year so I can be employed as science advisor/tech spec at law firm. BUT that won't be the case when application is being considered - do I need to already have a job by the time my app is submitted?
No, you don't need a job.
Your odds aren't that good, retake the LSAT and get 4 more points and you'd be in.

You're a borderline case now. I think with at least 2 more points you would have a decent shot at pt ed.

Go to lawschoolpredictor.com
She has about a 50% chance with a 168 and that GPA for ed pt. Take her sex, softs, and w.e. into consideration and I like her odds.

Below both medians significantly? No fucking chance.jdhopeful11 wrote:Desert Fox wrote:No, she needs 170 min.jdhopeful11 wrote:You're a borderline case now. I think with at least 2 more points you would have a decent shot at pt ed.

Are all of these ED PT tho? You get a boost with ED, and PT median is around a 167/168 LSAT

Now that PT programs are counted for USNEWs medians, the PT median will probably be 170. GULC isn't going to risk it's T14 spot for parttimers.jdhopeful11 wrote:Are all of these ED PT tho? You get a boost with ED, and PT median is around a 167/168 LSAT

I may be mistaken but didn't they start counting PT towards USN medians about 2 years ago? Gtown is the only t14 that has kept its PT program, what makes you think they will begin changing the trend to this degree now?Desert Fox wrote:Now that PT programs are counted for USNEWs medians, the PT median will probably be 170. If you dont live/work in DC, your work experience will mean nothing. The PT school only want folks that live in DC when they apply.

I doubt that's wholly accurate. I'm sure DC working professionals get a boost, but that kind of regional (more like metropolitan, I guess) selection would limit their application base too much to remain competitive. As Desert Rabbit commented, they have to keep PT from drowning numbersdownstream wrote:If you dont live/work in DC, your work experience will mean nothing. They counted it last year and this year, but last year was too late to change anything, acceptances already went out. And I posted a link to the data, nobody got into GULC with under a 3.5 and under 170 save one guy who hasn't been to school in years, and he still have a 169.jdhopeful11 wrote:I may be mistaken but didn't they start counting PT towards USN medians about 2 years ago? 166 has zero shot, 168 a micro shot.

Can anyone verify the validity of this? I had an internship with the DC AG office and thought it meant crap until now.downstream wrote:If you dont live/work in DC, your work experience will mean nothing. The PT school only want folks that live in DC when they apply.

Re: What are my chances GULC PT ED?
thanks. I think the sample size is a little small/inconclusive, considering how many actually apply and they accept. Not saying that it doesn't give you a very good idea of what to expect, but who knows if any of those applicants even applied PT ED...

I have a 3.0, 170 was flat out acceped. I know of someone who had a 3.1, 169, flat out rejected. If your GPA is low you need a 170, even for PTJakeL wrote:thanks. 169 gives a small shot, 168 with a low GPA is dead in the water.

Ok but you are neglecting the possibility that your resume, PS, LORs, and all other materials may have contributed to you being accepted "flat out" over who you know. I think that's just more proof that there's more than numbers involved.

Re: What are my chances GULC PT ED?
Schools need to protect their medians. A 3.1, 169 needs to have a 3.8/170 matriculate with them or it lowers GULCs LSAT and GPA median. They aren't going to do that because 3.8/170's won't go to GULC without money.jdhopeful11 wrote:flyingpanda wrote:I have a 3.0, 170 was flat out acceped. It is not valid, it's completely wrong, and it's all about numbers. The 166 has virtually no chance.

It seemed like something his online persona would have taken issue with. Unsuccessful, I guess.

Why are so many applicants within both medians rejected then?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
