Will schools grant deferrals this late? Forum

I submitted a request for a deferral a few days ago. I was initially told that I would hear back by the end of the week. I called to follow up and they said that the director of admissions reviewed it and it has been submitted to the committee. Do you think I have a chance at all of it being granted? I know that they have already released the wait list.
