Any more strawmen? Actually, philosophy and math/physics are the hardest at my school, if you really want to throw around bs at least make it stick

Oh, and a lot of schools are harder than Harvard. If you think anything else, you are simply misinformed or willfully ignorant.

You know when I make a mental list of things not fair in life my school not giving A+ is right there at the top of that list, above I don't something trivial like birth defects.

Same. That doesn't really make sense :S. I would be above median at my target school(s) for GPA if a summer study abroad class I took when I was 15 and was more worried about my sophomore year of high school than law school weren't weighing me down :|.

If it weren't for a summer course I took at 15 I would be very close or at the golden 3.8 I need to get above the GPA floor.

Would you be willing to join me in months of commiserating until we get our accepted to our top choices anyways?

I also think Rice does a pure bell curve for a lot of classes, at least they did in CompSci when my brother was there

At the undergrad level, MIT and Caltech. But, they kind of beast everyone.

Yes. Let's do it.

ETA: I'm more concerned about $$$ at my range of top choices rather than a specific top choice at this point.

No, I don't think it's silly. The LSDAS GPA is the same as my UG's. Not having the A+ counted that way would have seriously fucked up my gpa.

LOL, strawmen?? Anyway, who cares if Harvard is hard or not?? College is simply a screening process for 90% of attendees. The only people it is especially useful for are people who want to go into academia. Harvard kids have highest LSAT scores because they had among the highest SAT scores, not because Harvard made them so smart. College in the U.S. is still based on the liberal arts model that rich people hundreds of years ago set up to entertain themselves and stimulate their minds for pleasure. 85% of what you learn in school is 100% useless.

Anyone else think so?

Considering this post is coming from the same person who seriously implied that a psych major with 5 "neurobio" classes was actually very difficult.. I recommend you just not even worry about this.

MIT, CalTech, Stevens (seriously, noone gives them credit but it's true), Berkeley, Michigan (MINUS ATHLETE MAJORS like general studies or w/e), Cooper Union, Cornell, Rice (curves many many classes and really selective too) in the country (east coast bias, not sure about others)

As for Canada, Toronto, McGill, Ecole Polytech (also the French one)

UK, Imperial, UCL, Cambridge (Oxford really depends on the major)

IIT, India, Beijing University, Tokyo/Fudan

Ok, the vast majority of what you learn in college is useless.. *This comment was written to illustrate how easy it is to change a sentence with a number in it when the original number was obviously meant to have no statistical value at all*

Yes, strawmen. Did I say Psych is the hardest major at my school? My bad on Al Gore, but didn't he bomb a shitload of courses?

I care if Harvard is hard or not, because I appreciate academic rigor (one of my major motivations to get into the law)...oh, and I was inches from academia until a settled on the law

Good for you. I suppose everything that has been discussed once should never be discussed again. Like Plessy v Ferguson.

Yes; and somehow we're lucky enough to graduate with "great" GPAs, people think we're smarter when they talk to us, and STD-free
