I hear that most law schools require 2 letters? Is that true? Are there some that require more or less? And are there some that don't require any?

UT doesn't require any but they STRONGLY recommend them. When I get home Ill post a link that I have bookmarked that shows the exact admissions requirements for the entire T1/T2.

Most seem to be 1-2

1-3, depending on the school. I know I had to submit 3 at some point.

Most say two, but it's probably a good idea to peruse the admissions section of the website of ANY school you plan on apply to.

Any law school worth attending will require 0-2 LORs.

None of the schools I applied to needed 3. Most required 2. One didn't require any and actually said not to send any unless you were individually asked after submitting the app.

Which law school did not request any?

People's College of Law? LOL.

Anyway, I think 2 is the safest bet. No school that I applied to (Blanket almost all of T14 and a handful of Rank 20-30) "recommended" more than 2, and most said in fact that 3 LoR would likely slow your admissions process down rather than assist them.

Do you remember which schools specifically advised against submitting 3 or more LORs?

I've hit a small road bump getting a 2nd LOR from a UG faculty member, will it be a problem if I have 1 academic LOR and 1 work LOR? Assuming I'll be applying to T14 and some safeties.

The only law school I've found that actually REQUIRES two FACULTY letters of rec is cornell, other than that I think you will be alright with one non-faculty LOR.

Unless you've been working for several years, Cornell requires 2 academic LORs and Duke recommends 2 academic LORs, so you should be fine for most of the T14.

Which law school did not request any?
Doesn't Northwestern no longer require recs?

TLS profile of Northwestern says they require one as of this time

IIRC you can send in their new evaluation form in lieu of a letter of rec (the Northwestern one, not the LSAC one).
