Exotic degrees in any science tend to be a bad thing for IP.Gatorbull84 wrote:I hate to hijack the thread but I am in a similar boat. I have a bachelors in Biological Engineering and a masters in Molecular Medicine but no IP experience. I want to go to UF(havent taken the LSAT yet so who knows) and will be applying this year but I have been told that IP is getting harder and harder to crack into. Does anyone know if this is true?

IP is getting harder to crack, especially for non-EEs. My EE friends at NU are still making out like bandits, but ME/BME/etc folks aren't getting as much attention. Non-engineer non-PhD life sciences people never got much attention.

Can you expand on "as much attention".rayiner wrote:IP is getting harder to crack, especially for non-EEs. My EE friends at NU are still making out like bandits, but ME/BME/etc folks aren't getting as much attention. Non-engineer non-PhD life sciences people never got much attention.

Because it does not fall into the typical engineering categories (e.g. EE, MechE, ChemE). You generally want the more broad based engineering degree as law firms often get clients that file in a wide variety of arts. EE is a great degree to have because it encompasses a vast array of arts where filings are numerous. Also many clients/firms don't have experience with what exactly a biomedical/biological engineer knows or does.Gatorbull84 wrote:Digital,
