advice on parental LoR

so im having my mom write me a lor and she told me just to write it myself and she would sign it. is that allowed?


or does she have 2 write it?

this may be a flame, but in case op is really confused:

letters cannot be from family members. ONly people who know you in a professional/ academic way can write a letter for you. If you share genetic information with the person, then you cant have that person write you one

Sorry OP, even if you worked for mom's business your entire life, she cannot write you a letter. If they find out, you could be in a world of trouble.

im not really confused but thanks 4 actually taking me seriously i am not a flam.

okay i guess my mom cant write it for me (although I still may just have her do it cuz no one would ever find out) but what about if i asked a sorority sister? we dont technically share blood but i kind of feel like we do in a legal sense

Don't listen to them OP. Go ahead and write the letter yourself and have your mom sign it. However, with the personal statement that your dad writes you, do NOT have him sign it. You have to put your name on that. And whoever takes the LSAT for you, they have to use your name as well. Good luck at Harvard!
