Taking easy classes to boost GPA

Post by mi_robi » Tue Jul 13, 2010 1:51 pm

Hello,

I have one class left to take before I graduate, and I was contemplating taking a few easy electives to boost my GPA.

My question is whether schools look unfavourably at an applicant who has intro-level courses in the final year of his degree, or do they even really look at the classes?

They claim to look at classes, but GPA trumps all that. You have to remember that adcomms go through thousands of apps a cycle, they don't have time to do in depth research into every applicant.

I think it is a good idea to get as many A's on your transcript as possible. I really regret not doing this when I had the chance. Just make sure you don't load up on so many classes your can't pull the grades. good luck.
