Looking for some TLS wisdom

A little about me: 171 in June 10 (retaking in October because I got a fee waiver). Just found out my expected 3.4 LSAC has morphed into a 3.27 because a few of my engineering classes I bombed so long ago were four credits and not three like I thought. My current summer classes will only bring them up to a 3.29 :x

So, now that my dreams for NYU have been thoroughly dashed, I'm left with a dilemma. I really want to work in Boston after graduation. I'm applying to BU and BC. I feel like I could possibly get some lower T-14 acceptances, and perhaps WUSTL. The problem is all of these schools are far from the northeast. Does going to a T-14 really give me that much more of a leg up when it comes to working in Boston over BC/BU? I'm not really sure what I want to do after law school. I don't want to pass up a huge opportunity at, say, UVA just because I want to be close to home.

Another thing I've been wrestling with... my boyfriend and I have been talking about getting married shortly before law school and then trying to have kids, with the first to come 1L summer. Neither of us is sure how we feel about being really far away from family and friends during that time. Does anyone with young kids have any advice on this? I know it would be harder farther away from home, but is it impossible? Did you value being close to your family when your kids were born?

You might consider Fordham. It is ranked lower, but places well in Mid Atlantic area.
