These schools are my safeties and low-targets... and definitly not Yale... haha.acrossthelake wrote:Really depends. I called Yale to ask a particularly valid question and I got cut off with a "No, bye" click.Barbie wrote:I was thinking about calling about other things- asking applicant questions, and at the end -- oh yeah, i asked for a fee waiver a while back.... under breath: (i know you're giving them out to people with numbers near mineeeeee)acrossthelake wrote:Er I wouldn't. *shrug* If only because my experience with talking to ppl over the phone has been the person on the phone being extremely rude to me (I was asking a different, relevant question). Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Off the top of my head I got UCLA, UVA, Duke, Gtown, and Minnesota among topish schools. I might have missed out on a few due to my CRS showing that my planned enrollment date wasnt until 2011. HYS, UCB, and UChicago I know definitely dont give merit waivers. I dont know about the rest.acrossthelake wrote:Which ones offer them?tkgrrett wrote:Thats really strange. I have similar numbers to what you have listed in your profile and I received a waiver from most of the T14s that offer them. I think the only one that offers them and didnt give me one was Cornell(altho im not 100% sure they offer them.acrossthelake wrote:

Valparaiso sent me a package yesterday with a letter from the Dean saying my fee would be waived, and asking me to apply. Also some literature along with it.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
I got the Valpo and fee waiver package last week as well and just received an email from Michigan State University. Finally, I'm getting fee waivers for schools which I'm intending on applying to anyway. For a while there, I was thinking the CRS state-specific interest was irrelevant since I was getting emails from schools in states I'd never consider.

Could someone elaborate on this "forum trick?" I'm in the same boat of having signed up for CRS over a year ago, and needing some fee waivers to show up.tkgrrett wrote:Ehh maybe LSACs little trick of signing up for forums to make your account current isnt working.. 177/3.66 no contact from Illinois

What did your Michigan State email say? Mine said something about being a "very strong candidate" for a full tuition scholarship, anyone else get that?

I got the stetson email plus fee waiver too. My MSU email said my numbers are strong for their schollies but in reality my numbers are average. I guess I'm not cool enough. Oh well. I've heard back from almost all of the schools I've emailed if anyone wants to PM me they can get a list of schools that gave me one (12 total)

Seeing all of you TLSers with much higher numbers than me get the fee waiver email from MSU (a school I am extremely interested in) makes me anxious and sad.

I haven't checked my snail mail box in maybe a week. I wish I would find it stuffed with fee waivers.

There is no trick. I signed up for a forum bc of my early CRS registration, and it didn't do anything. Still haven't gotten one waiver for this cycle. Email the schools you want waivers from in a few weeks..jcd178 wrote:Could someone elaborate on this "forum trick?"
