Penn said they will refund the app fee if they end up giving you a waiver after you apply.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
hey all,
what does it mean to get a fee waiver? i just took the last sat., oct 9 test, and haven't got a reputable score yet, but Chreighton University just sent me a fee waiver. Does this mean my lsats are already graded and somehow schools get access to lsat scores earlier? sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, I am new to all of this.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Application fee waivers are just that: a school waives the fee they would normally charge to submit an application. And no, your LSAT isn't scored and probably won't be reported for another two weeks or so. Creighton gave you a fee waiver without worrying about your score because, well, they're Creighton. That is, they suck.hssnig wrote:hey all,

Vandy fee waiver by e-mail today! Creighton yesterday.
And yes Creighton does suck; if you aren't top 1/4, job prospects are very poor.

Miami today.
Also requested USC a few days ago and today was greeted with a response that is literally copied and pasted from their website (about the various types of waivers they offer). Really, USC? Ah well, I save even more money in not applying than I would with a waiver. Go UCLA.

I got Miami waiver + scholarship consideration if I'm admitted by January 2011. But, I would think that anyone with good numbers would be considered for scholarships if you apply by that date (it's posted on their general website that they recommend you submit by Thanksgiving as funding dries up in January).

Anyone have any info/ideas about when/whether or not Emory or WUSTL will be giving out Fee Waivers?

Check for a hidden one. They responded to my request saying they only issue fee waivers through CRS search and generally only to candidates who exceed both medians (I'm a splitter and don't meet their GPA median). I checked for a hidden waiver a few days later and was surprised to see I got one. No email or snail mail notification.beachbum wrote:Miami today.

Received a super nice view book from USC and a super nice *actual hand signed* letter. I am impressed (I am a geek, therefore unimpressed with digitally produced signatures ).speedyj88 wrote:Check for a hidden one. Also, Notre Dame booklet and Seattle Scholarship brochure. I must say it's nice when a school get right to the point and send you nothing else but financial aid offerings.

General Question about fee waivers: for those that you can apply for, are these applications somewhere on the school website? For example, I have been unable to ascertain whether there is such an applications for Columbia. If there is no application are you still allowed to ask for them? How?

Need based: some of them have a form/ask for supporting docs, some say LSAC onlytikiman6 wrote:General Question about fee waivers: for those that you can apply for, are these applications somewhere on the school website? (LSAC fee waiver on their website)
Merit based: send them an email with your LSAT/GPA , check for hidden waivers: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=129078 , wait to be notified via CRS *schools periodically search crs if you are signed up to allow contact from law schools, you might get emails etc from them.

Ok I emailed WUSTL and Emory. WUSTL hooked me up, Emory didn't. Emory said they'll contact folks directly. Dave, out.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
