Not only do they feel I'd be likely to earn scholarships there, but now they've even waived my fee to apply for Spring 2011. :D Hmmm.... I just might consider throwing away my chances at a T14 school for them  Oh, Washburn, you'll have to try harder by improving your school, not marketing tactics to get me

P.S. I'd love a Cornell viewbook... drool....

Now that I know Cornell viewbooks are going out again, I can resume being disappointed by my mail.

I've been pre-approved! Ground chuck is on sale! I need to pay my cable bill!

Where are you, Cornell? Why no love? Your brothers NYU and Columbia were interested...

I know people here have gotten Wash U waivers upon request, but no one has gotten anything unsolicited from them, correct?

Of all of my planned applications, there are 6 from which I have not received fee waivers. BC I know doesn't give them but I'll apply anyway because it's my favorite of my safety-er schools; BU, GW, and ND are going on the backburner and I'll apply if I don't have good news from elsewhere by...I don't know, mid December or something; Penn doesn't love me, so I'll either give in and apply anyway or use this as an excuse to write one essay fewer; and Wash U.

I may just e-mail them and request one, since I know that has worked for other people. Just curious to see if anyone else has heard from them.

"We've waived your application fee to Georgia State University College of Law.

You're the kind of student we're looking for, and we'd like you to apply for Fall 2011. The fee waiver will be applied automatically when you submit your e-app. Our application cycle begins Friday, October 1st."

... Is it bad that I've never heard of such a place? :?

I am on Regent's hot list. 12 months of mailings and more than a dozen emails. If they give me the money they spent making/sending me materials I could probably go to dinner tonight...

Asked USC for a waiver 5 days ago.

Response today: USC Law offers merit-based fee waivers by invitation only to applicants whose profiles typically meet or exceed both the median LSAT score (167) and the median GPA (3.64) for our entering class. Candidates who wish to be considered for a CRS Merit Fee Waiver must register for LSAC's Candidate Referral Service (CRS) before applying to our law school.

Invitations will be emailed/mailed to those candidates who meet our profile criteria and are registered for CRS. All CRS Merit Fee Waivers will reflect automatically on the electronic USC JD application at the payment window as the fee is connected to your LSAC account number. No fee waiver code is required if a CRS Merit fee waiver is awarded.

I included my #s (above their medians) in my email so I guess just have to wait and see.

Same here, and Washburn, and a Univ of Baltimore email today.

The thing I keep wondering is how many of the upper schools that I'm getting post cards/emails/etc for, just want my application to decline me and help their stats, and how many I have a genuine chance of being accepted to.

Also, I've pretty much decided that unless it's an in state school (because I'm drawn to stay in state), that I'm not paying an app fee. If they want me to move out of state, at least be willing to waive the app fee. So that's kindda where I'm at right now...

Got Colorado - Boulder yesterday by request, which is good because I would not have applied if they had refused to waive my fee.

Got a Cornell and a Wisconsin viewbook today by mail, but as far as I can tell there's no fee waiver from either school.

Are there any T25 schools that don't accept LSAC Fee Waiver, for which I'd need to apply separately?

I was looking at Stanford's today, looks like they don't give one. Also you have to apply individually for a need-based waiver from Texas, regardless of having an LSAC waiver.

Yale also does not accept one, you have to request a form directly from them and send it in by mail.

I am not sure of any others since I got merit waivers to most (merit waivers trumps LSAC waiver apparently). I got a merit one for UT so I didn't even know they don't take it.

Stanford does give out need-based and they will consider the LSAC fee waiver as evidence . I didn't get the LSAC waiver and still qualified.

Wow, it never occurred to me to ask for fee waivers from these guys...

I've only gotten unsolicited waivers from Georgetown, UCLA, Duke and UVA (I'm 173 and 3.76). You're just calling these people up and saying, give me a waiver?

Yeah, when I emailed Wisconsin regarding a fee waiver back in late August, their response was that they don't have merit-based fee waivers, but if need be, I could fill out an application for a need-based waiver...

So based on that, I'd doubt they'd put out waivers in their viewbooks. Darn...
