swilson215, did you request the Tennessee fee waiver? I didn't get one, but I'm in-state and well above their 75% in GPA and LSAT.

Ouija board?

Do they have a committee sitting around trying to figure out what to offer? "Okay, this guy has a 174. He's gonna be a little tougher to woo to Charlotte School of Law... give him $17,000!"Don't brag lol. I got a little more that that but whatever. This school is completely irrelevant. I agree, why do they even try?
i have better #'s than a dude who says he got more....i think it might be name based. i hear the school wants to have equal alphabetical representation so if that poster's name started with a Q, he's more necessary to bring in. either way, i think we can all say we'll be sitting in charlotte school of law for profit next year with our massive scholarships. i hear you're going to need a JD to sell your body by 2020.

i got that one. don't think it means much.Gemini Hopeful wrote:*pat pat*ahduth wrote:Cool, real cool. Charlotte School of Law, another prestigious institution of legal education here who doesn't seem to think I exist.
I should email them saying I'll underbid you guys. "14k and I'm totally in. Let's get this thing done."
There's always that Columbia waiver, lol.

That one I did request. I sent the email and within 6 hours had a fee waiver, no problemo.atresia wrote:swilson215, did you request the Tennessee fee waiver? I didn't get one, but I'm in-state and well above their 75% in GPA and LSAT.

I just got an email from BC. It really got my hopes up because I'm definitely applying there and a waiver would have been great. It was just some generic information and an invite to sit in on one of their classes which I'll probably take them up on.

I just realized I should probably be applying to Texas and Vanderbilt. Do they grant waivers?

Oh one more thing - do you just request the waiver or do you need to include stats, the reason why you want to apply to their school, etc???Lexyeva wrote:Thanks a bunch!artichoke wrote:Admissions office. Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Yes, but Texas said they stop giving merit-based waivers on 11/1. Here's the email they sent me when I requested a merit-based waiver back in August:ahduth wrote:I just realized I should probably be applying to Texas and Vanderbilt. Do they grant waivers?
Application fee waivers for UT Law may be granted to applicants who can establish documented economic hardship. All applicants seeking fee waivers must submit a completed Application for Fee Waiver and a completed Application for Admission on or before November 1. Applicants wishing to apply for Regular Decision also may apply for a fee waiver; however, the Regular Decision application must accompany the Application for Fee Waiver and be submitted on or before November 1. To obtain an application form, go to http://utdirect.utexas.edu/loadm/areq.WBX?page_switch=1.
UT Law offers a limited number of merit-based fee waivers. If you are eligible, as an applicant you will receive an email from us before November 1, which is our deadline for fee waivers.
We appreciate your interest in The University School of Law.
Vanderbilt also has merit-based fee waivers, but they're also given out only via CRS. Here's the first paragraph of the email they sent to me (2 days before I got a CRS fee waiver):
Thank you for your inquiry regarding application fee waivers. Vanderbilt offers merit and need-based waivers. Merit-based fee waivers are granted through the LSAC Candidate Referral Service (CRS) searches, and when participating in CRS, your information may come available to us. Please ensure that your CRS registration indicates that you are applying for matriculation in Fall 2011. We will notify you by email if a LSAC merit-based fee waiver has been granted, and your electronic application fee will be waived automatically when applying. Our fee waiver invitations sometimes cross in transit with applications received, and if this occurs, your application fee will be refunded.

I also requested one from ASU and got an interesting response (pasted below). Basically, they give a few out via CRS, but you can apply for one after you submit your application without having actually paid the application fee...
Thank you for your email and your interest in The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. We do offer a limited number of fee waivers based on LSAT and GPA to applicants through the LSAC Candidate Referral Service (CRS). This usually occurs a few times during the admission cycle, and an email would be sent to those who qualify inviting them to apply and waiving the application fee.
If you wish to apply as soon as possible, you can submit your application through LSAC without paying the fee, by indicating you will be sending the fee separately, and when you send in the required Certification Letter, include a short paragraph addressing your LSAT score and GPA to be considered for a fee waiver.
Hope this helps!
