Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants

Post by yoitsmebenny » Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:06 pm

I received an email from the University of Cincinnati this morning and figured we could get a thread going of what schools are giving out application fee waivers and when.

Please note this is for applicants who will be applying for admission to start school in Fall 2011.

When posting, please post the date you received the waiver as well as your LSAT score so we may get approximate ranges for people.

Without further ado, let's begin the list.

How are you getting these waivers? Asking the schools, signing up on a mailing list, through LSAC/CRS?

If you took the LSAT and are signed up for CRS, you should get them.

Do you guys have all your transcripts on file as well, or just your LSAT? I'm still waiting for one of my transcripts to get there.

I don't have my (single) transcript in yet. I think this is solely off of LSAT scores and self-reported info.

Yeah, I don't have a transcript in yet either. Surprised to be getting fee waivers with how badly I bombed the LSAT.

I don't take the LSAT until October 9. Should I try to obtain some of these on my own (for schools I'm interested in)? Ideally I want to send out my apps ASAP after my LSAT, but the cost is a tremendous factor for me.

How's your GPA? It can't hurt to try and ask for merit based ones solely off your GPA, if it's strong. But if you truly have financial need a lot of schools have financial hardship based waivers as well, they just require proof. Hope this helps.

I got fee waivers from Cincinnati and Seton Hall as well.

Is this a result of having decent numbers, or are they sending them out to basically everyone?

My guess is to people that scored a couple of points above their average.

I doubt any school will grant you a merit waiver without a reportable LSAT score.

I was offered some last year before taking the LSAT for the first time. Have a 3.99 GPA, so I'm assuming it was based on that.
