Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
I have the sneaking suspicion that I have numbers good enough to avoid fee waivers designed to increase selectivity, but not good enough to net me fee waivers designed to entice very desirable applicants. I judge this off of the lack of a UVA merit waiver at 168/4.0 and my own hurt pride.

here's the rundown on my foray into the fee waiver world. 3.1/170
Granted? Admissions Email
BC no response bclawadm@bc.edu
BU Yes bulawadm@bu.edu
UCLA Contact in Sept admissions@law.ucla.edu
Ucolorado Contact in Sept lawadmin@colorado.edu
Cornell No lawadmit@postoffice.law.cornell.edu
UF No admissions@law.ufl.edu
Fordham No lawadmissions@law.fordham.edu
GWU No jdadmit@law.gwu.edu
UGA no response ugajd@uga.edu
UIUC NA admissions@law.uiuc.edu
IUB No lawadmis@indiana.edu
UC Irvine NA
U Minnesota Yes
UNC No law_admissions@unc.edu
UT No admissions@mail.law.texas.edu
Utah Yes info@law.utah.edu
WUSTL Yes admiss@wulaw.wustl.edu
W & M Yes
Wisconsin No admissions@law.wisc.edu
Northwestern No admissions@law.northwestern.edu
UVA Yes lawadmit@virginia.edu
This school list might look ridiculous, but I have unique circumstances that, I feel, warrant applying to many schools. Only a few are "safeties," the rest I'd love to go to.
if i recall correctly:
GWU, Wisconsin, Florida and Fordham don't grant fee waivers. William & Mary and Minnesota were unsolicited, and "NA" indicates no application fee. U Colorado and UCLA asked me to resubmit my request in September.
UVA Dir. of Admissions send me an email in response to my request with some very kind words. I doubt my numbers are reasonable for UVA, but it was a very nice touch--much better than some schools who were, I felt, pretty unpleasant.

170/3.4: Got the UVA waiver. It's been a while since I've gotten a "good" waiver (or any waiver, for that matter), so I'm pretty stoked.
Still waiting on my request from Duke...

You're at a 75 and between a 25/median. Not exactly autoreject numbers.Calla Lily wrote:Received UVA waiver, 167/3.92...I will pay $12 for the out/wl

Got UVA Today as well. So far gotten 3 i'll use: Georgetown, Duke (priority track), and UVA. I'm not doing any emailing until September, late Sept. at the very earliest.

You are right, that prediction may have been too negative. Wasn't planning on applying to UVA, but I suppose I will throw an app out there for $12.

I just got Virginia. I don't know if it took 4 hours to make it out to where I live or what.

Your LSAT score might have been a bit low for them. They probably had to think about it for a bit.d34dluk3 wrote:I just got Virginia. I don't know if it took 4 hours to make it out to where I live or what.
