University of Houston
STCL
Denver
Loyola Marymount
Baylor
Miami
U of San Francisco
SMU
Temple
San Diego

My top choice would probably be U of H as I completed a month long summer pre-law program at the law school and really liked it. What's the verdict?

I think as a URM you could aim even higher. I don't know much about Texas, but Denver is gorgeous I hear. I'm not even considering Texas schools because I'm trying to avoid similar weather to what we have here in FL. I'd throw a few more stretches in there though, for sure.

Thanks for the response Darby, I'm definitely trying to get all the input I can find. I've heard great things about Denver too and I've got some family up there so it wouldn't be too bad of a fit. What schools do you think would be good stretches for me? I just don't want to over-shoot and spend money on applications if it's just going to be an auto-ding. Oh and by the way, I go to LSU undergrad and I'm sure you'd be getting some serious scholly money with those numbers. Let me know if you have any questions about LSU and I'd be glad to give all the info that I have.

Anyone else have suggestions/predictions on my list?

I'm not sure about good schools in your desired region, but definitly go for some more T1 schools. LSU would probably give you money, why arent you applying there?

I definitely will end up applying I just forgot to put it on my list, whoops :P . The only reason I wouldn't attend is I am just not sure if I want to work in Louisiana. It's more of a personal/family reason, I have a lot of family in Texas so I'd preferably go to law school there before I stayed here. I also think that a change of scenery would be nice for the next three years. But LSU is definitely powerful in the Louisiana market, regionally it's on par with Tulane but I'm not too sure about portability of an LSU JD.

But I don't know, I'm pretty open to living and going to school pretty much anywhere as long as I'd enjoy it but I just am not sure of the schools that would be considered reasonable reaches for me.

I dont really fall into the low numbers discussion myself but I am pretty familiar a few of the lower ranked schools. Both the Arkansas school, UMemphis, IU-Indy, and IU-Bloomington. Feel free to ask me any questions about those schools if interested. Im at my internship(finance related) so I need to take a break from the spreadsheets now and again.

Hey, trying to get some information from those with experience.

My numbers:
GPA - 3.69
LSAT - 160 (retaking, -5 from average with 2 PT's of 168)

Was wondering what my chances are with these schools if I retake it and score around a 165, or if for some reason I stay with this 160.

Fordham
Notre Dame
Boston College
Cordozo
Brooklyn

Thanks

3.88 and 165

Huge Reaches:
Berkeley
Penn
Northwestern

Target/Reach:
Cornell
Vandy
UCLA
BU
Fordham

Safer:
Tulane
USCali
Emory
BC

Would like to do BigLaw, probably in the Northeast. Thoughts?

Predictions are quoted. No idea why Tulane is on this list.

I'd strongly recommend a retake. 3 more LSAT points and you are looking at Top 10 schools.

UNC does not have ED that I am aware of, but with that said you are more or less my numbers twin (I was 163/3.4-5) albeit we are going to be in different cycles.

Additionally, I also applied to all three schools you mentioned, here are my results (again this was from the c/o 2013 cycle so it might not be all that useful).

UNC: accepted (In-state though, so take it with a grain of salt)
American: accepted
Wake Forest: Waitlist (didn't ride it very long though due to response from UNC)

If you are interested I can PM you my LSN profile or you can probably find it yourself with the above info.

You're not going to BC or UNC (unless you're a NC resident).

Just saw your numbers, and the scholly from Wake Forest. Mine are 3.3/163, but I;m thinking about retaking the LSAT to try to get that 164 mark that seems to be the magic number everywhere... otherwise I think I'm a waitlist at Wake Forest...

you are correct. 1 more point will make all the difference at wf. that brings you from wl territory, to in with decent $.

+1. A reach school is exactly that a REACH. Who knows you may end up getting lucky and squeak in. Would anyone mind commenting on my earlier list/situation? Any advice would be appreciated.

They fell into the third tier this year (and thus are unranked within that tier). But they typically have been a second-tier school.

currently have a 157 and 3.67, definitely going to retake in oct because test day nerves got to me and i underperformed and missed very obvious inferences in the games that alone would have got me to a 160.

as of now though im wonder what my chances at SMU, Houston, and Baylor would be.

Directness means I'm bitter?

What shall I tell him, that he's a special snowflake and can do anything his widdle heart wants?

He's not going to BC with those numbers. Life sucks, get a helmet.

Hey I'm applying to a lot of the same schools as you. quasi similiar numbers, 3.94 162. I think were both going to have an interesting cycle. I don't know about you, but I plan on applying to a lot places and just seeing how things end up.

With your current numbers I don't think you have a great shot at any of these. You actually may get in SMU Part-Time, but that is it.
