UW Madison Graduate Spring 2010. 1 year work experience. Worked two jobs throughout college. Half-Persian. Wisconsin Resident. 3.57 and 159 LSAT.

Here are some schools I'm considering:

Considerable Reaches:
WUIST
Notre Dame
Illinois
Indiana-Bloomington

Targets/Slight Reaches
Wisconsin
Iowa
Kentucky
Case Western

Wow... the Florida schools really are TTT! :D

At least we're not some dirty rust belt backwater like... all of Illinois other than Chicago!

Hey how'd that whole Confederacy thing work out for you guys? Oh that Sherman guy lit all your houses on fire? :D

All your reaches are pretty much auto-rejects. It doesn't mean you shouldn't apply, but I wouldn't expect anything of them. Probably Wisconsin too.

Here are some schools I'm considering:

Considerable Reaches:
WUIST- No
Notre Dame- No
Illinois-No
Indiana-Bloomington-No

Targets/Slight Reaches
Wisconsin- Waitlist, but probably no
Iowa- No
Kentucky- In with $
Case Western- In with little to no money

You really need to retake. None of these schools are worth the amount of money you'd have to spend on them.

They just don't grow 'em like that up here in Illinois. They just don't.

(I don't think they grow them like that in St. Louis either. Dammit, take me back Vandy!!!! I didn't mean it!!!)

I'm in a serious relationship and she is applying to medical schools during the same cycle, with Kentucky being one of her top choices (she has residency there). Plus, I've spent considerable time in the state and have come to love it--Louisville and Lexington in particular.

Does it really look that grim for Madison? It seems 25 percent of the those admitted were below 156.

Wisconsin's website says they consider 4 primary factors:
1. have strong academic credentials (including cumulative undergraduate grade point and LSAT score)
2. have a broad range of experiences and backgrounds
3. are members of groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession, including racial and ethnic minorities
4. are Wisconsin residents

I'm a Wisconsin resident, offer some diversity to the class profile, meet the GPA median, along with some work experience and some other softs.

Also, DF is credited.

Can anyone tell me anything about KY or TN. These schools have been repeated numerous times in this thread.

Girls look just like that here. And I wouldn't go to a school for sexy girls and booze. I am one and have the other! (juuust kiddding, kind of) anyways, seriously though. it isnt that great ranked but its the best in kentucky. hows the area? weather? people? traffic (haha)?

And for Wisconsin-- I'm not a resident but I was born in Milwaukee. Haven't been back since but heard they don't have to take the bar. THat's appealing!!!!

FTFY

Median GPA and 25th% LSAT score = WL/Out

Maybe if you were a little below the LSAT median it would be better, but the 25th is bad news.

I'm not at the 25th. LSP also says 49 percent of those admitted were below my numbers and says "consider."

Would it be better to be 75+% LSAT and 25-% GPA or 75+% GPA and 25-% LSAT?? OR are they the same?
