Shoud I retake and apply, or apply then retake?

Postby SHANbangs » Tue Jun 08, 2010 10:29 am

I'm thinking of taking a third LSAT in October, depending on what I get for the June test. However, I want to get my apps out EARLY (and I mean as early as possible). If I retake and my apps are all in by the time the October scores come out, do the schools I apply to see the new score? If they reject me before they see the score, can I apply again in the same cycle?

I think it depends on the schools you're applying to. From what I've seen, at most schools your application doesn't go "Complete" until your re-take score is reported. Hence, your application won't go into review until your score is released anyway. So...if you want to get your applications out of the way right away (which is what I would personally do--one less thing to worry about) then go for it. However, (assuming that you don't wait until scores are released to get your apps going) the order in which you retake/apply won't really have an effect on how quickly your application is reviewed.
