And age-old TLS question that will likely never reach a full consensus. But I agree with you, and that's exactly what I did.SoftBoiledLife wrote:My honest answer is either none or UCLA/Texas in-state.
Here's the thing, if you get into a good non-T14 school (let's say for the sake of discussion anything T30), you can pay the sticker price and probably be allright when it all shakes out. But getting into one of those schools means you're probably looking at some $$$ somewhere a little lower on the totem pole. ITE, it is worth compromising on ranking to drastically lower your debt load unless you're absolutely hell-bent on a federal clerkship or a biglaw job right out of the gate.
(Even then it's still probably a better idea to take the money, because there's no guarantee that your grades at a T15-30 will be what they need to be to get that clerkship/biglaw job).

Rando is right. I got basically the same amount of money from Vandy and Emory, which surprised me to say the least. Maybe Emory's endowment was down?rando wrote:Good advice right there. With a solid LSAT 167+ you can get good $$ at Emory. Though talk to RadLaw, Vandy basically matched Emory for him.
In any case, if you're looking to target the South, like I was, anything over Emory's median LSAT gives you a good shot for money, and for Vandy, anything over both medians gives a good shot for money.

First I would like to note how unbelievable this statement is. Jen Aniston, if she wasn't famous, would be the girl you call at midnite when all your other plans fell through. Megan Fox would def still be a top 3 option.romothesavior wrote:Hot? Yes. Cute? No. I personally go for the cute ones. As far as this thread goes.. realistically I'm not even all that comfortable with sticker at HYS so my answer is none... but if I was forced to pick, I would choose vandy.

George Washington, Boston University, UCLA, USC, in fact, every school leading down to I would say #25 is worth paying sticker, based on their biglaw and other statistics.

Which stats? Self-reported stats, especially from pre-ITE, doesn't mean jack.

I think i would have to agree with Romo... Megan Fox is hot but some like Jen Aniston would be the good wife kind of a person I would marry. Though Jen is getting a little old, I would look for someone a little younger.romothesavior wrote:FTFYtkgrrett wrote:First I would like to note how unbelievable this statement is. UCLA, USC, UT (if I wanted Texas) or Vandy.

Partially tongue in cheek. But I was willing to go to WUSTL sticker when I started the cycle, since I'm originally from there.
I'd sooner pay full freight at WUSTL than USC or Texas, but then I don't want to be stuck in LA or Texas.

I would pay sticker for the T-20, possibly up to the T-25.

Most public T1-T2s are probably fine for residents. Nothing wrong with a Maryland resident paying "sticker" at UMD.

Re: Which non-T14 school would you go for sticker?
+1 and I totally agree. My state has two public T3s in my state that are dirt cheap. I'd go there at sticker and rack up 60-70k in debt for a decent shot at a small town prosecution job before I spent 180-200k at a T25.OG Loc wrote:Most public T1-T2s are probably fine for residents.
