3.56 GPA. Necessary LSAT score for NYU law?

I am very interested in going to NYU law, but I only have a 3.56 GPA which is in their 25% percentile. What kind of LSAT score should I shoot for? If I get 173+, what kind of chance will I have of getting in?

Thanks!

Looks like very good if you bump that up to a 174.

I got in with a 3.53/176

Thanks. I thought I was doomed with a 3.56 and was cursing myself for just barely missing those As in a few classes (my school doesn't hand out +'s or -'s).

If you're looking for more anecdotal evidence, I got in with a 3.4/175. Non-URM, applied late. Mid-to-high 170s will probably give you a decent chance.

173 for a decent shot, 174+ should give you a good shot. FWIW, I landed NYU last year with 3.49/173 and a late-January application. It's doable.

Good luck!

more info on your profile? I'm trying to figure out why I got WL everywhere with my 3.65/173, and I thought maybe it was because of my mid-December application.

Nothing too ridiculous - decent (but not exceptional, by any means) liberal arts college, 1 year of pretty interesting WE, helped bring a club sport from bottom of our league to a national ranking (which is what my PS centered around), and other basic softs of the sort. I honestly think my PS was what made the difference - I worked to hell and back on it, and I think it read pretty damn well.

Edit: White male, but I did write a diversity statement about life experiences I've had.

can you guys maybe present maybe or not you're an underrepresented minority. i would imagine that the percentiles are brought down by students who have intangibles ($, cultural diversity, etc.) that i simply don't have. i feel hesitant to apply to schools unless i'm over 50% in both, although i kniw i could rock a great personal statement as a life long paid creative writer.

Updated my post, if that's what you were asking for.
