On Waitlist: Phone Call in Lieu of LOR?

Post by Foosters Galore » Tue Jun 01, 2010 12:41 pm

I'm on the waitlist at a certain school which is my top choice. The professor who wrote one of my original LORs has kept in touch with me and has offered to do anything to help. He stated he would call the admissions director on my behalf.

My question is this. Would calling the admissions director be seen as too aggressive, and possibly count as a negative on my application? I only ask bc I've heard so many horror stories on the finicky nature of adcoms. Thanks in advance
