I saw the Texas Tech link, but did anybody ever figure out wtf OP was talking about in her first post?

It's the beginning of the C&F process in Texas. You have to do it as a 1L. Financial problems (bankruptcy, student loan defaults, etc.), DUIs, stuff like that may keep someone from being allowed to sit for the bar. There was a case years ago where the Board of Legal Examiners thought someone was a smartass on one answer and didn't let the guy take the bar. I apologize for bringing teh serious to this thread.

So is it an actual part of C&F? My student loans are in good standing and I have never filed bankruptcy. I am cleaning up my credit. And since the age of 18 I have held at least 13 different jobs. I have been employed at the same place since Feb, and I am planning on staying there until after I graduate. Will this be an issue for the Declaration part? That is all I wanted to know. I had no idea it was only required in Texas.

Seriously at first you guys annoyed the hell out of me but now I'm cracking up. So fail on your part. And you sound sexy in Spanish. No one has ever said "Mira nena" to me besides my husband. And you are probably right. I'll look elsewhere. Thank you love you were by far the most helpful lol

OP HAS to be wrong (not that I'm surprised) about the whole have to do this 1L year thing. Does everyone who is potentially considering working in Texas have to do this? What about those Yale grads who didn't think about it during their 1L year???

Granted, I didn't need a whole lot of convincing to stay away from Texas...

Actually read through the post, it seems to be very real but I, like another poster mentioned, am sure there is a way around it.

Nena_a wrote:Oh for the love of Marc Jacobs I misspelled occurred. I has sad now.

What is the point of this? It's like a mini C&F when you barely start ls? Reason I ask is because answering that wont exactly make me look like the greatest person on earth. Main concern: financial irresponsibility and about 13 previous employers in the span of 7 years. I have no criminal background whatsoever. Just got my first speeding ticket this past January. My bad credit is due to some banks I left overdrawn that were impossible to pay back in time before they closed, a couple of utility bills and other minor debts that have accumulated. This all happened because in all honesty I was an idiot, immature, yada yada, most of it occured when i was 18-20 years old. Now back to the future: I have started paying off the debt and have paid off a nice chunk. im still paying it off. I have a job that I do not plan on quitting for any reason whatsoever. The declaration asks me to list all of this, doesnt it? im hoping by that time my credit will be better. How can this affect me in the long run?
