I worked a real job for years before coming to LS. I'm a 1L. I have been sitting on my ass for 12 hours a day staring at a computer, in the same place, stopping only to eat and sleep for a week now, and will continue to do so for another three weeks.
You have no idea how much I miss being able to go home at 7 every day and not think about work until the next day. In 9 months I've watched three movies and read zero non las books. If I do something non law related, it is drinking or TLSing, because those don't require any use of my tired, tired brain.
Enjoy 0L while you can, because once you start law school then legal practice, you won't have a carefree moment inside your own head ever again.
If you're that way, you'll probably like law school. If you're expecting intellectually stimulating material and freedom from being shackled to a computer all day...

I'm just excited that I don't have to be an engineer anymore

I'm excited to use my brain after two years of being a paralegal.
I'm also excited to move to a new place and start a new phase in my life.
I'm in Asia right now, was given less than 10 hours notice that I had to fly here for work, and now I'm sitting in a hotel room with nothing to do.

You know you know what you're getting yourself into if you're a paralegal. I kind of wish I had the opportunity to be one so I could be certain law school is the way to go.Pearalegal wrote:I'm excited to use my brain after two years of being a paralegal.

Well, hopefully I can add 'smartest' in with the other two, but regardless, I understand there is a certain randomness to grading and a certain "it" factor that some kids just have and others don't, but for all the factors that I actually have control over I fully plan on taking advantage of.amyLAchemist wrote:rofl for sure. the bolded doesn't necessarily have a correlation with grades.Always Credited wrote:rofladh07d wrote:Maybe i'm just a Daniel Plainview, but I look forward to challenge of battling everyone in my class for the highest grades and the best exam scores. Well you go to UVA and I go to Emory, so let's split the difference and battle it out on Duke's front lawn.A'nold wrote:

Re: who else is excited beyond belief for LS
I'm freaking excited and nervous! I view this as a chance to finally go out and do all of the shit I didnt do the past 23 years of my life. Good baseball player, didnt really care about trying to get better. Good trombone player....really didnt care about that either. Good golfer....dont have the money to make myself any better. I feel that a fresh start is what I need, with something that I know I am passionate about (I mean why pain myself with the LSAT if I dont really want to do LS?). Not to mention finally getting to leave this shithole I currently reside in....BRING IT ON!!!!!! I am going to kick some ass!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
