PROGRAM DATES. An individualized, intensive, one-week, five-day, summer session program, held three hours per day. Summer sessions are offered at participant’s convenience beginning in the second week of June and ending the last week of July.
INSTRUCTION. Led by actual Law School Professor and Ivy League Honors Graduate of Columbia Law School and Columbia College, Columbia University currently on faculty at an AALS and ABA-accredited law school.
LOCATION. Online (must have regular access to internet; Microsoft Word 97-2003 compatability mode; Microsoft Powerpoint applications; and phone availability for instructional phone support) or on site in San Diego, California; New York, New York. Housing or boarding are the responsibility of the participant.
UNIQUE FEATURE OF THE PROGRAM. Flexible according to particpants schedule. All classes are available from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with conveniently offered Saturday afternoon meetings available for full time career professionals.
REQUIREMENTS. Completion of one full year of undergraduate-level coursework.
APPLICATION DEADLINE. June 10.
TUITION. $750.00 USD. Includes all Institute casebooks, workbooks, powerpoint instructional slides, study handouts and one-on-one instructional phone support.
SERVICES. Introduction to the American Legal System and Sources of Law; Legal Methods and Lawyering Skills; General Law School Essay Exam Writing and Test-Taking Strategies; Multiple Choice Test Taking Strategies; Introduction to Torts Skills Workshop; Criminal Law: A Primer; Law School Personal Statement Assistance (if planning or in the process of applying to law school); One-on-One counseling session on law school choice, performance success, career planning and resources.
