How to Negotiate Scholarships?

Do you email? Call? Show up in person? How does one approach this topic? If anyone can link me to previous discussions that tackle this subject, I'd appreciate it too. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. If I send an email to a tier 3 school, should I mention I have a guaranteed job after graduation (which I do, my mother has a successful firm)? I thought maybe that would help give me more leverage since they are extra concerned about the percent of people employed after graduation, etc. But then again, maybe I don't want to demonstrate my guaranteed ability to pay off my debt...?
