Top Law Schools

This is a question from a friend of mine who is currently a junior who's too lazy to make an account.
She's considering applying to law school next year- her grades are on an upward trend (currently so-so, she thinks grades will keep going up by end of 1st semester senior year) and she hasn't taken the LSAT yet.

When should she start applying?

a.) As soon as she knows her LSAT score (which would be either sometime in October or whenever someone can start applying to law school)
b.) After her 1st semester of senior year when her GPA will likely be higher (which would be mid-December)

She thinks b is a better option since she'll show law schools a higher GPA initially but I think a is better because law schools would be more likely to take her earlier than later.

How much of an impact will 4-5 additional grades (even if they're all As) really make after 100+ credits? I'd apply earlier, include an addendum and provide later grades as needed to support said addendum.

a 7th semester, while helpful, cannot entirely hide the previous 6's body of work. The real question will be - why was it so low to start and how did she adjust or what made her do better? What she learned from this situation would prove valuable in this addendum

Tell her to work for a year. Her GPA will be finalized and she can study for the LSAT without worrying about it. It also means she can apply early and have plenty of time to put together her applications.
