Waitlisted at American: YP or is something wrong? Forum

I just got waitlisted at American and my numbers are 167/3.65. Is American known to yield protect or should I be worried that something is horribly wrong with my application?

They just sent out a bunch of obviously YP waitlists today. American is the biggest numbers whore ever. Last year they waitlisted almost everyone with a 165 LSAT or above, admitted almost everyone in the 162-164 range, and waitlisted/rejected almost everyone below that. Also, they seem not to care about GPA at all. Apparently they don't like being a safety school for anyone.
