Say for instance this individual is applying to a T-14 school. This individual (the applicant) at one point was involved in an 'intimate' relationship with the Dean of Admissions (or say with someone in the ad com) of the school that s/he is applying to.

The applicant has knowledge of this. The relationship ended on amicable terms.

My questions:

1. Does the applicant have a duty or an obligation to notify anyone at the law school?

2. Is there grounds for any conflict of interest type scenario here?

On the other hand, are you certain that this dean will remember the applicant? Kinda presumptuous? I mean, really, it sounds like it was awhile ago. Placing a name on a file with a face from the past can be challenging.

I agree that this storyline has potential...

If you're really concerned about this, call her up, meet for drinks, ok maybe not that, and tell her what's going on. I don't think she'd like to hear "Hey, we have this applicant who claims to know where your birthmark is. Did you really mess around with this guy, Dean?"
