any point in riding out the columbia waitlist

If you would rather attend Columbia, then yes. Otherwise, no.

let me rephrase: any chance of getting in off the Columbia waitlist? even if I did get in I don't know if I'd go but if there's a reasonable chance at success I suppose I'd still continue my app

I guess I don't understand the harm in staying on?....its not like you have to actively do anything different than your current daily routine....just wait it out. If you get in then you have a decision to make if not, nothing lost....i dont understand the concept of coming off the WL unless you are POSITIVE you wouldn't go...then obviously the nice thing to do for the rest of us waiting is to be removed.
