Jan/Feb App Purgatory (2010 Edition)
In the spirit of last year's thread, let's get a pleasant support group going :
Who else out there went complete within the past few weeks and has since been pulling out their hair in anxious anticipation?
edit : red text totally necessary.

+1
Seeing how some people on LSN applied in Jan last year with good numbers & got waitlisted/rejected depresses me.

The worst part is that the longer I wait, the more I want to increase my application count. So far, it has ballooned to 16. And yes, I would gladly withstand the Ann Arbor winters...if I got in.

I urge you to resist that temptation. I have gone through all the stages of grieving with the App. process and have finally settled into the Acceptance portion. How likely are you to go that 15th place your putting in the app for. You say, "I will for the right price." If you're getting a nice chunk from that school, then your dream schools are probably in play, and you won't want to give up on that dream. Save the skrilla and go out and buy yourself a nice pair of sneakers/shoes, whatever.thecubiclelife wrote:The worst part is that the longer I wait, the more I want to increase my application count. I wish I had.

My second rec finally made its way to LSAC a couple of weeks ago. Still not complete at a few places. Excited to join the party.

i'm also in this group. i took the December LSAT so although most of my applications had already been submitted, they didn't go complete until the beginning of January. When should i realistically expect to start hearing back? how long could this drag out? some schools seem to require deposits by April 1.

Definitely part of this. I've submitted all my apps, but I took the September LSAT and the December one, and on neither did I get the score I wanted. I'm a February retaker as well, now. I'm going to be pulling out my hair for another two months.

Re: Jan/Feb App Purgatory (2010 Edition)
Yeah, I'm worried about the Deposit deadlines too. They should all be on the same date - otherwise it's unfair for students.
I'm quite sure that a few of my reaches won't be back to me before April 1, but hopefully they will be by April 1.
Applied to schools between 1/13 and 1/31, with most around 1/21-1/22.

I have a sudden urge to look through last year's results on LSN. This waiting game has made me so crazy that I want to see how others did, no matter how depressing the results.lemonpie wrote:+1

DON'T DO IT. I whittled away most of today in search of comfort from last year's cycle - so far, all it's given me is an ulcer. Maybe two.timelovesahero wrote:I have a sudden urge to look through last year's results on LSN. I'm feeling you guys on this. No matter how much I try to look the different statistics, they are the same and I come to the same conclusion: that I will have to wait for a decision to know what I'll be doing!

Went under review for Hahvad on 1/22. Prior to this it seems like 99% of applicants got their JR1 email within a week.

Re: Jan/Feb App Purgatory (2010 Edition)
From looking at LSN, most people hear back by late Feb/mid March. You'll be fine, just don't expect a whole lot of action in the next month and you'll save yourself some stress. March is when the real action happens.ixpresxi wrote:i'm also in this group. i took the December LSAT so although most of my applications had already been submitted, they didn't go complete until the beginning of January. Even plenty of folks who applied early (Sep/Oct/Nov) won't be hearing from some schools till late in the game. But the schools know about the April deadlines and will push to get this done.

Re: Jan/Feb App Purgatory (2010 Edition)
Just got an e-mail from GW (first response from them since I applied on 1/19) saying my Law School app is complete and "is in our review process." Does that mean it is already under review? How long do I have to wait to hear?
