At my shitty High School, good is 155 decent is high is 140's-to low 150's, and 145 isn't killer.

TLS- 150's sigh, 160's-you're ok but don't go dreamin about the big bucks, 170- Are you URM, if not that's still good, but I hope you have a high GPA. 175+ with a decent GPA, now were talkin.

It's all relative.

The numbers for my school were very similar. The mean was 155.

My question is, how can you get a 3.9 but then not put in the time and effort to get a good LSAT score?

Of course, if he took it in September 09, then I have my answer...

Some people believe with all their heart that you cannot study for the lsat, at least not for more than a couple points.

Well GPA can be a factor of hard work alone, with a moderate amount of intellect, but given the time issue, the LSAT factors in processing speed and mental skills much more. So if Vinny was a really hard worker and always stayed focused, he could have done really well in school, but without other skills he may not have had success on the LSAT. When you have 4 months to get the grades, it's pretty much impossible not to succeed if you TRULY put your mind to it. Most people aren't willing to do nothing but schoolwork, though.

I think that most people can improve their score significantly through practice, but I don't think you can take a 145 and make them into a 180 just by practice alone.

That really depends on what material you are studying. Most people just aren't smart enough to get an A in a physics course (for majors, none of this physics for janitors garbage some schools have) at a competitive institution.

I think he'd be one of the more interesting dudes to meet at law school. He didn't seem like a douchebag on Jersey Shore.

+12 here, coulda improved more but I didn't study particularly well. It was more repeated practicing than studying.
