Change to application info after acceptance?

So I'm most likely jumping the gun on this one but I'm a worrier...I submitted all of my applications in late December. So far I've been accepted to one school and pending at the other three. In my resume and personal statement, I noted a recent promotion that I had received at my current job (a one sentence mention in each). I was called into the assistant vice president's office along with my boss in Nov and advised that "Congratulations, you've been promoted and it will be effective by the end of December." To date, the promotion has not yet been finalized which is concerning. I emailed my boss about this yesterday (to have this in writing) and I'm still waiting for his reply. So my question is, how big of a deal do you think this would be if I have to amend my resume if the promotion does not materialize?

Not a big problem. At the time you submitted the app it was true. Also, I wouldn't contact any schools until you find out from your boss what's going on.
If you eventually learn that you will not get the promotion, you could send an updated resume to the schools you applied to with a short 2-3 sentence explanation of the change. Shouldn't affect your chances at all.

Agreed. Above all, just be completely honest with all the schools. I'm sure you're not the first one with this situation, shouldn't be a problem.

You were honest when you applied. It's a very minor soft and won't make any difference. Personally I wouldn't do anything unless the school asked for any updates.
Schools know things can change from the time of application. The only things I would be proactive in telling the schools are character & fitness items.
